NOMINATIONS FOR SIR SYED AWARDS FOR BEST TEACHERS.
- The School Education Department (SED), Punjab is committed to improving the quality of education service delivery across Punjab. One of the key focuses of the department is to provide more support and recognition to the work of Teachers. To celebrate the contributions of teachers across the province, the Government of Punjab is organizing Sir Syed Awards (SSA).
- The Sir Syed Awards (SSAs) of the Government of the Punjab are an annual teaching award that aims to award the most dedicated and inspiring teachers within the Punjab from primary to secondary level in government schools. There are 36 awards in total, one from every district in the Punjab – there will be one gold medalist, six silver medalists and twenty-nine bronze medalists. The jury for the awards will include international education specialists, jurists from the academic space and members from the senior leadership in education at the School Education Department.
- Each district is requested to nominate three exceptional teachers by 6 of February 2020. They can be primary, middle or secondary teachers. It important that these nominees are done on merit – all shortlisted candidates will undergo a vetting process to assess the rigor of the nomination process. The criterion for the selection of teachers is attached as an ANNEX to this letter. Please note that it is not important that these entire criterion are met in order for the teacher to be nominated.
- The nomination form is attached with this letter. Please fill a separate form for each teacher and dispatch the Hard copies of these forms before the deadline to PMIU and email scanned copies of each form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
